Project Nordic Climate
Nordic Climate is a joint research project on which Tryg, Codan, Gjensidige and If have entered into a collaboration with the national research agency, NordForsk and Nordic Centre of Excellence, NORD-STAR.
The purpose of the project is to heighten the insurance companies’ awareness and knowledge of climate sakes, so that we best possibly are able to advise our customers about consequences hereof.
In 2014, the collaboration results in customer-minded data tool, VisAdapt, which is able to adapt and compare climate data even at regional levels in the Nordic countries. This data will enable us to provide specific advice for house owners and customers within specific areas, which will increase our customers’ understanding and knowledge of climate changes and the risks involved.
By means of this tool, we will be able to provide targeted service specifically modified for our customers’ needs and challenges and to help them to reduce their own vulnerability.
The collaboration was commenced in 2011 and is supported by all four insurance companies by 1 kr. per home insurance, or in total 4 million kroner.
